A washing machine is an absolutely indispensable household appliance. Previously, even before the rapid development of technology, our mothers and grandmothers washed by hand or on an old-style washer, which took a lot of time and effort. The first washing machine of the «automatic» type appeared in the USSR only in 1975, and came out to the masses many years later.

On the modern market there is a huge range of washing machines with the best characteristics, and among them there are inexpensive models that, despite their affordable cost, are reliable and easy to use.

What is important to consider when choosing?

Download type. As already noted, vertical ones are more expensive, let’s focus on the front ones;
Drum volume. It depends on how many things you can wash in one cycle;
Noise level during washing and spinning. The lower the indicator in decibels, the more comfortable it is to use such an installation, especially at night;
Dimensions. There are narrower models, there are wider ones. Some have more depth, others less. Start from the free space that you are ready to allocate for a washing machine;
Variety of operating modes. Economic program, anti-crease, night mode, washing down and children’s clothes — there can be many programs available. Some of them are very useful in everyday life;
Control method: mechanical keys and controls, touch panel, combined version;
Spin speed and its selection, spin class. The higher these indicators, the better the spin of the washed items will be. True, the effect may differ for different manufacturers even with the same indicators.

Which energy class is better?

Another important technical parameter. The energy class is indicated by indexes A, A+, A++. The higher the class (that is, the more pluses the index has), the more economical your washing machine will be in terms of energy consumption. There are other categories: B, C, D, E, F and G, but we are not interested in them.

The most economical option — A ++ — spends 0.15 kW / h on washing 1 kg of clothes. For A +, this figure is slightly higher — 0.17 kW / h. Cars with class A consume 0.17-0.19 kW per hour. Also note that these are approximate values. In real conditions, energy consumption is influenced by additional factors, such as operating mode, heating temperature, load level, heat transfer of the heating element (it is recommended to monitor its condition so that scale does not accumulate on the heating element).
